Moscow, one of the largest metropolises in the world, is the ideal location for international trade fairs: with nine million inhabitants, it has a share of Russia’s gross domestic product of 12.5% and is therefore one of the strongest economic regions in Russia. Moscow has the highest purchasing power in Russia and is clearly the commercial center of the country.

Located along the scenic Moskva River minutes from the center of downtown Moscow, Expocentre is Moscow’s leading venue, staging more than 60 exhibitions each year, ranging from world-famous public shows to international trade exhibitions. It is home to many of ITE’s largest events such as MITT (Moscow International Travel and Tourism), Building Week in Russia, MIOGE (Moscow International Oil and Gas Exhibition) and World Food Moscow. The construction of the new 29,000 sqm exhibition hall # 7 was completed in 2002. Now Krasnaya Presnya Fairgrounds is second to none in Eastern Europe in respect to size, facilities and services. With 7 halls totalling 190,000 sqm (60,000 sqm indoors) it can accomodate the most ambitious of exhibitions.


Sokolniki Culture & Exhibition Centre

Sokolniki Culture & Exhibition CentreAn international exhibition centre, Sokolniki is one of the biggest such venues both in Moscow and the rest of Russia. The area of Sokolniki Culture & Exhibition Centre was first involved in the exhibition process during the Soviet times. The Centre holds over 80 international specialized exhibitions and trade shows with more than 1,000,000 visitors annually. More than 5,000 companies from 55 countries take part in Sokolniki exhibitions. Key areas of the Centre’s activity are packaging, printing and publishing industries, mechanical engineering, furniture production and woodworking. Sokolniki owns 14 modern exhibition halls with the total area of 33,000 sqm (28,000 sqm indoors).


All-Russia Exhibition Centre (VVC, former VDNKh)

All-Russia Exhibition CentreAll-Russia Exhibition Centre is one of the biggest exhibition venues in Russia and favourite recreation place of Muscovites (more than 300 specialized trade shows annually, up to 12 million visitors). Once named Exhibition of Economic Achievements of the USSR (VDNKh), this venerable part now houses trade displays from dozens of multi-national firms. While restructuring itself to a less idealistic showroom for consumer goods, it remains a truly outstanding place to visit. VVC encompasses a wide area and is filled with pavilions for everything from grain and furs to atomic energy. It offers 64,400 sqm of indoor and 40,000 sqm of outdoor exhibition space. A planned extension of the site is to transform VVC into a complete entertainment complex by 2010.


Central House of Artists (TsDKh)

Central House of ArtistsOpened in 1980, this vast exhibition covers a whopping 10,000 sqm of floor space. The gallery presents more than 300 different exhibits every year and hosts a massive 600,000 visitors. Exhibitions cover a wide variety of styles and forms of art and since 1980, this three-storeyed complex has hosted a series of Western Artists exhibits — works by artists such as Salvador Dali and Francis Bacon have been put on display. The main exhibition upstairs is a chronological continuation of the Tretyakov Gallery — an unrivalled collection of 20th-century Soviet art including works by Kandinsky and Malevich. One of the halls offers a stunning view across the Moscow River to the impressive glistening golden domes of the newly built Cathedral of Christ the Savior.


Gostiny Dvor (MGD)

Gostiny DvorGostiny Dvor is one of the outstanding monuments of history and architecture, situated in the Moscow downtown, 150 meters from the Kremlin and Red Square. At the end of 18th century Russian empress Catherine the Great ordered to rebuild Gostiny Dvor to the design of the famous Italian architect Jacomo Quarenghi. Nowadays the Moscow Gostiny Dvor arcade is a modern cultural and business centre. Its configuration is comparable to the Saint Marco Square in Venice, and every year various exhibitions, trade and cultural events are held here. After the renovation in 2000 there are numerous stores, jewellery and antiques shops, restaurants and banks within the ensemble. The total complex area — 81,634 sqm, inside yard area — 13,000 sqm.


Olympiysky Sports Complex

Olympiysky Sports ComplexOlimpiysky Sports Complex is one of the best trade fair venues in Moscow. Well-known international trade shows such as Windows & Doors, Leisure, Apteka, Transrussia, etc. are usually held on the area. Olimpiysky has been purpose built to host a spectrum of activities ranging from sport events to exhibitions. With stadium capable of seating 35,000 and 10,000 sqm exhibition area, Olimpiysky is home to a vast range of events throughout the year. Location in the centre of Moscow, near the major highway — Sadovoye Ring; comfortable parking; high technical equipment; unlimited building height — all this makes the exhibition area very convenient both for exhibitors and visitors, especially for those coming from abroad and Russian regions.


Crocus Expo Trade and Exhibition Center

Crocus Expo Trade and Exhibition Center

The new Crocus Expo grounds are located in the northwestern district of Moscow directly on the Moscow City Ring Road, at the intersection with the Volokolamskoye Highway. The Exhibition Center is in full operation since the end of 2003. The trade show activity started in March, 2004. The Exhibition Center is a part of Crocus City Trade and Exhibition Business Center, which also involves Russian mega-market Tvoy Dom, trade center Crocus City Mall, hotel complex (4—5 stars) and 3,000 parking lots. Crocus Expo is located close to Moscow’s thruways (20—25 minutes’ drive from city center). A Metro station is to be open nearby according to the Moscow City Government Development Program. The exhibition area involves 4 halls.
